City Meet Info! PLEASE READ

Hello Horsetooth Swim League,

The moment you have all been waiting for has arrived! City Meet information!

Due to our growing numbers, city meet is an ever growing process for a host pool. Due to various reasons, this year's City meet will not be at one pool, but split between 5 pools. This is the best solution so that swimmers will be able to race other teams and we as a league can stay outside rather than going inside to Mountain View.

Thank you to the following pools for hosting one of the sessions! Bucking Horse, Nelson Farm, Parkwood, SCCA, and Westfield.

Now I know that there are probably a few questions like:

What is the cost?

  • There will be a $12 per swimmer cost (This covers the attendance of the swimmer and all of their individual and the relays that they compete on)

How will awards/results happen?

  • Swimmers will receive ribbons for their places at the meet they attend like they normally would at a typical meet (The league board will provide the ribbons)
  • After all the sessions are completed, SwimTopia will merge the results for us - Swimmers who then place 1st - 3rd after the combining takes place will receive a medal (The league board will provide these)

What responsibilities does each team have?

  • Host team - Concessions, Computer, and communications to visiting teams
  • Visiting teams - Timers (2 per lane), Clerks of Course (2), Safety Marshals (2), Officials (2)
    • The league will pay the officials $50 each.

Is this how City Meet will be done every year?

  • Ideally no. Our hope is that starting next year the league will return to its’ rotation of the larger pools for hosting. We also hope to start a partnership between smaller pools and the larger pools to reduce the amount of work that one team has to go through for this type of meet

Please let me know if you have any questions,

Jackson
